description
The study conducted was the result of a joint effort led by Economic Development Innovations Singapore. The Project occupies an area of 180 ha and is rich in environmental attractions in the municipality of Fazenda Rio Grande, one of the growth vectors of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The “One South” (sister development to One North in Singapore, a reference in urban and sustainable economic development) would create a new centrality within the municipality and region integrating life, work, mobility, leisure, and learning activities. The project aimed to create 25,000 direct jobs and housing for 17,000 people. Taking advantage of natural conditions and proposing a clear and unique design, the elaborated Masterplan applied the principles of connectivity and integration with the surroundings; creation of urban references to define an identity for the location; diversity; density; mobility with a focus on public transport and pedestrian scale, valorization of public spaces, and good design solutions in the urban planning of the project.
