Barigui River Linear Park - Section 2
description
The proposed project is the continuation of section 01 of the linear park under construction and has an extension of approximately 400m, from Prof. Pedro Viriato Parigot de Souza street to Heitor Alencar Furtado street. The focal point of the proposal is the removal of irregular occupations in a protected area, the revitalization of the area with diversified uses and the valorization of the natural landscape of the river, bringing it closer to the lives of the people of Curitiba, putting them in contact with the local fauna and flora. The program consists of the combination and connection of versatile spaces for leisure, sports, gatherings, strolls, rest, and contemplation, in addition to providing spaces for cultural and commercial activities (spaces for street vendors). The proposal includes the implementation of three beach tennis courts, a multipurpose sports court, fitness equipment, three interconnected playgrounds, a large square with lush landscaping, a wooden deck over the river with loungers for relaxation, a stage, grandstand, picnic area, pet space, and the implementation of Antônio Lau street, providing some parking spaces for street vending and food trucks. JERIVÁS SQUARE How can we interfere in an environmental protection area in a simple way, avoiding built spaces and high costs, and still encourage appropriation and delight users? The construction of the space in Jerivás Square stemmed from the manipulation of the floor plan and the volumetrics of the vegetative elements. The floor composition arises from the relationship with the walkways that form a small angle between them. Thus, a non-orthogonal grid was proposed, in which each axis interacts with one of the two walkways that border the square, arranged perpendicularly or parallel to them. Points of interest were placed on this grid for the placement of flowerbeds and equipment, which interfere in it through a 'field of influence,' representing inflection points in the narrative. The volumetric construction of the space is achieved through the placement of Jerivá palm trees, a native species of great ornamental and environmental interest, whose geometric arrangement forms spaces through proportional relationships, fullness and voids, light and shadow, fluidity, materials and textures, delineating a timeless aesthetic free of excesses. We sought to build the intangible: to create spatial experiences that urge us to dive into the inner world stimulating the senses and shaping a place to be lived and savored. PUMP TRACK How can we create a pump track that maximizes the interface between different groups and is attractive to different types of people? Instead of creating a conventional bike/skate track, we transformed the original idea of a monofunctional pump track into a multifunctional recreational space with a wide variety of functions for different types of users. The organic form generated from defining a circuit appropriates the curves and fluidity of movement to create a topography similar to small hills, uniting the natural and built environments, resulting in an inviting landscape that allows for various types of appropriation, also serving the adjoining spaces. In order to avoid creating a segregated area used by a very strict group of bicycle and/or skate enthusiasts, this equipment was placed amidst spaces dedicated to children's activities and sports. The intersection of these facilities with the topography generates small enclosures that delineate different atmospheres. The introduction of greenery seeks to bring mental and physical well-being to users, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of the work and contribute to drainage, avoiding large areas of impermeable soil.
